Since being elected in June 2009, County Councillor Ron Hussey has
received dozens of complaints about the poor road surface in Western Way.
And now, as promised, contractors have been "planing off" parts of poor
road surface to remove uneven and bumpy areas.
The contractors then repaired the surface as shown in the photograph.
When complete, the road surface is sprayed with a tar adhesive and
covered with small chippings.
Once the chippings have bedded in, all the road markings (white and
yellow lines) will be repainted.
"We've already received letters and phone calls to say thank you for our
efforts," reports Janice Spalding.
