Street repairs halted as Tory Budget Runs Out
Figures obtained by the Liberal Democrats through a freedom of information request has
revealed that the Tories have cut spending on our roads by £1.2m in just 5 years.
In 2004/5 the spend on maintaining our roads was £2.8 million this has fallen sharply to just
£1.6 million for 2008/9.
Despite Tory press releases promising more money, a county officer has admitted in a email
that money was tight and there were insufficient cash for proper pothole repairs!
