New ward boundaries - have your say

7 Aug 2018

The boundaries for Borough Council seats in Basingstoke and Deane are set to change.

Basingstoke Borough Council Offices

The Local Government Boundary Commission has today suggested that the number of councillors in Basingstoke and Deane should be cut from 60 to 54. This means that the seat boundaries are likely to be redrawn and elections will be held for all Borough Councillors in May 2019.

Affected wards include Brighton Hill North and Brighton Hill South, which will be merged and served by three councillors (they currently have two each). Grove and parts of Eastrop will also be combined.

The Local Government Boundary Commission is asking local residents to have their say on its draft proposals by Monday 15 October.

The Commission expects to publish its final recommendations, taking on board your feedback, in November.
