Improved Traffic Lights - Grove

18 Jun 2010
Cllr Hussey and the improved traffic lights

When driving west from the Golden Lion roundabout towards the pedestrian crossing, it can be difficult to see the traffic lights when the evening sun is shining in your eyes.

This can be a particular problem when the lights are red and a pedestrian is about to cross.

We asked highway officers to investigate and they agreed that "the east/west alignment of the crossing may cause 'wash-out' for drivers at particular times of day".

We've now had the signals heads replaced with a brighter LED type head which should help to resolve the problem
