The County Council held an exhibition at the Viables Craft Centre on Thursday 15th July to consult

residents on proposed changes in Grove Road from Skippetts Gardens to the Golden Lion

roundabout.

The County's press release, to inform residents about the exhibition, was issued too late and

was not given to the Gazette until the day of the exhibition.

Unsurprisingly no-one turned up.

County Councillor Brian Gurden asked for the exhibition to be re-run and properly advertised this

time.

Councillors Ron Hussey and Steve Day personally delivered leaflets to 1000 homes to make

sure residents were better informed.

The proposed changes are being funded by the developer of the homes in Skippetts Gardens. They include:-

three new pedestrian crossing points, one across Jays Close from the Golden Lion to Motorland, one across Grove Road near the BP garage and one from Cliddesden Road to the Golden Lion;

a new footpath in Grove Road from Skippetts Gardens to the Golden Lion.
