Every Little Helps or Does it?
Tesco plans

Tesco's plans for a new supermarket on the Smiths Industries site has resurfaced. This time their plans for 5,900 sq metres of retail floor space include:

- 535 car parking spaces with spaces for customers with a disability and parents with small children

- food retail plus opticians, pharmacy, bakery and clothing

There will be an in only access from Winchester Road behind Toys R Us and an in/out entrance on The Harrow Way.

Tesco's highway consultants recognise that there will be traffic problems and are therefore proposing several highway changes.

Brighton Hill Roundabout -

Traffic lights on the roundabout with lights at the roundabout junctions with Winchester Road (east and west bound), The Harrow Way and Brighton Way similar to the system at Eastrop roundabout,

Winchester Road Roundabout -

Traffic lights at the two junctions with the Ringway.

The Harrow Way -

Traffic signals at the entrance to the Tesco store.
