Co-op Funeral on Buckland Parade

Several residents have asked about the new funeral parlour at Buckland Parade. Why was there no planning

permission? Why weren't we consulted?

When permission was agreed for the Off-licence, it was granted under Class of Use A1. This means the premises

could be used as a shop, retail warehouse, hairdresser, undertaker, travel agency, post office, pet shop, sandwich

bar, dry cleaners, funeral director and Internet cafe.

As the premises had Class Use A1 permission, the Co-op did not need to apply to the Council to open a funeral parlour.
