Street repairs halted as Tory Budget Runs Out

Figures obtained by the Liberal Democrats through a freedom of information request has

revealed that the Tories have cut spending on our roads by £1.2m in just 5 years.

In 2004/5 the spend on maintaining our roads was £2.8 million this has fallen sharply to just

£1.6 million for 2008/9.

Despite Tory press releases promising more money, a county officer has admitted in a email

that money was tight and there were insufficient cash for proper pothole repairs!

"So much for the Tories "pot hole busting' programme" said Cllr Gavin James, "their

announcements are all spin, you simply can't trust the Tories
